High School Chem-E-Car Competition

Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Objective:  Build a small car powered by a chemical reaction and control that chemical reaction so the car travels a certain distance and stops. Read our general announcement letter or the rules for more information.

The 2008 Competition

  • This year was our smallest competition to date. Several teachers who have brought teams in past years moved to new schools and didn't bring teams this year. New schools who did register had problems getting their cars working and didn't compete.
  • Registered Schools: Broken Arrow, Catoosa, Memorial, Summit Christian Academy, and Union.

Winners:

  • Broken Arrow Senior High School - 1st place distance (1.6 ft from the target of 33.5 ft) and poster
  • Union High School - 2nd place distance and creativity

Next year we hope to link our freshmen students with high school teams to help guide the high school students through technical difficulties. Look for information posted in the fall!
